Elevating the Voice of Cancer Patients

To give a voice to the cancer community and an opportunity to be heard, Together Against Cancer Association Malaysia (TAC) launched its first publication entitled Elevating the Voice of Cancer Patients which provides a rare insight into the realities of life with cancer that is not often revealed on the 19th July 2016.
Elevating the Voice of Cancer Patients consists of a unique collection of 10 stories that captures the voices of those affected by cancer at different stages of the disease experience. These stories reveal the ongoing concerns around the lack of accessible comprehensive cancer centres and cancer care specialists nationwide, late presentation of the disease, access to diagnostic services and timely care, access to life-extending treatment and cost of illness which place an intolerable burden on patients and their families.
The objective was to engage patients to share individual experiences that would serve as a unified voice to reach healthcare teams, policy-makers, organizations to support cancer patients and most importantly, the people facing the disease.
